PBS PRESIDENT TO KICK OFF “NATIONAL DIALOGUE” CAMPAIGN
IN ROCHESTER WITH WXXI PUBLIC BROADCASTING
Mitchell Shares Vision for PBS’s Role in Serving Americans in Digital Era

June 6, 2005 (Rochester, NY) – Pat Mitchell, president and CEO of PBS, will discuss the role of PBS and public television in the digital future at a public event on Wednesday evening at Strong Museum. Norm Silverstein, president and CEO of WXXI Public Broadcasting, will join Mitchell on stage to solicit feedback from the public on ways that public broadcasters can address the needs of specific communities and the nation – particularly in education - through exciting new delivery platforms for PBS’s television, web and video content.

Rochester is the first stop in a year-long campaign that will take Mitchell to communities across the nation to engage the public on PBS's current and future initiatives.
