WXXI PUBLIC BROADCASTING EARNS A PRISM AWARD FROM THE PUBLIC RELATIONS SOCIETY OF AMERICA
(June 22, 2005) Rochester, New York – WXXI Public Broadcasting was recognized at the annual Public Relations Society of America/Rochester PRism awards ceremony on Thursday, June 16 at the Lodge at Woodcliff in Fairport. Judged by a panel of Public Relations professionals, WXXI received one PRism award and one Award of Excellence.
WXXI’s Second Opinion Press Kit earned a PRism award in the not-for-profit/ press kit category. The kit, which was housed in a metal medical file, introduced program directors and potential funders to the new, national medical series produced by WXXI-TV and distributed by PBS. The creative team included: Jon Haliniak, creative director, designer and writer; and Elissa Orlando and Fiona Willis, content providers and writers.
WXXI’s Be More brochure received an Award of Excellence in the not-for-profit/ brochure category. The 28-page, 4-color brochure provided an overview of the station’s programs and services in a lighthearted and well-designed layout. The creative team included: Jon Haliniak, creative director, designer and writer; and Kristin Tutino, writer.
