WXXI INVITES TODDLERS TO JOIN THE TELETUBBIES
IN A DAY OF EXERCISE ON MAY 17

Rochester, New York (April 20, 2006) – The Teletubbies have declared May 17 Get Up and Go! Day of Exercise and invite children everywhere to join in their celebration. While Rochester toddlers will be tuning in to WXXI-TV 21 (cable 11) on Wednesday, May 17 at 12 noon to join the Teletubbies in a fun-filled half-hour episode of playful and safe exercise, more than a hundred toddlers from Wilson Commencement Park's Early Learning Program will conduct their own exercise regimen at the same time. WXXI’s Education Training Coordinator Katie Sullivan will be on hand to share in the Day of Exercise at Wilson Commencement Park and distribute health and fitness resources to classrooms.

This special Teletubbies presentation is designed to get small children to start thinking about exercise. The Teletubbies take children through some of their favorite things to do, like stretching, up and down and jumping. The episode ends with the Teletubbies winding its young viewers down for nap time.

Teletubbies is the first program specifically designed for children aged one year and older. Dancing, singing and bumping tummies, the Teletubbies Tinky Winky, Dipsy, Laa-Laa and Po are four technological babies who love each other very much and live happily together in their world of childhood imagination. Teletubbyland is a magical place where the Baby Sun smiles down on a landscape of rolling hills, rabbits and talking flowers. Teletubbies airs weekdays at 12 noon on WXXI-TV 21 (cable 11).
