WXXI PROVIDES COMPLETE ELECTION NIGHT COVERAGE
Results and Analysis Begin at 9 p.m. Tuesday, November 6

Rochester, New York (November 2, 2007) – WXXI will provide in-depth coverage on election night, Tuesday, November 6 beginning at 9 p.m. on AM 1370 and at 9:30 p.m. on PBS WORLD, WXXI’s digital channel DT21.2 (cable 524). The WXXI news team will report live from candidate campaign headquarters while 1370 Connection’s Bob Smith, WXXI News & Public Affairs Director Julie Philipp and WDKX host Tariq Spence provide analysis from WXXI’s studios. Philipp will provide election updates on WXXI-TV 21 (cable 11) at 9:57 p.m. and 10:57 p.m. Result updates will also be posted on WXXI’s Web site at WXXI.org/election.

Prior to election night, WXXI encourages voters to log on to WXXI.org/election for a comprehensive election site that includes 2-minute audio messages from local political candidates who participated in WXXI’s Candidate Free Air Time, a free service thatprovides candidates in selected local races the opportunity to share their views with the Greater Rochester community through WXXI. These audio messages have aired on WXXI-TV throughout October, and the last of the group will air Sunday, November 4 at 12:30 p.m. on WXXI-TV 21 (cable 11). On the November 4th broadcast messages will be heard from Rochester City Council Member candidates Carla Palumbo (D), Luis Perez (R) and Elaine Spaull (D) and Rochester City School Board Commissioner candidates Melisza Campos (D), Priscilla Cromer (R), Christopher Edes (Libertarian), Malik Evans (D), Max Kessler (Libertarian), Michael McManus (R), Willa Powell (D), and Allen Williams (D).
WXXI’s election site also features an election guide that explains the races and offers descriptions of the races, AM 1370 audio news stories on the election, and WXXI’s Need to Know video segments related to the races.
