ROCHESTER, NY (Jan. 18, 2008) –  WXXI President Norm Silverstein announced today the promotion of Dr. Susan Rogers to the position of Executive Vice President and General Manager.

“The addition of General Manager to Susan’s title more accurately reflects her role in managing the day-to-day operations of WXXI and representing our station at the state and national level,” Silverstein said.  “It will allow me to concentrate on advocacy for WXXI and public broadcasting and to continue to build partnerships that benefit our station and community,” he added.

Dr. Rogers joined WXXI in 1996 and has held several positions, including Chief Operating Officer. She previously worked as Director of the Office of Distance Learning at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
