(Rochester, New York) April 3, 2009 –WXXI’s Biz Kid$, the public television series – where kids teach kids about money and business – will close the NASDAQ Stock Market at MarketSite in New York City on Monday, April 6 at 4 p.m. WXXI President Norm Silverstein, Biz Kid$ Executive Producers Jammie Hammond and Jeannine Glisa, Washington Credit Union Foundation Executive Director RoxAnne Kruger, Washington Credit Union League Chief Executive John Annaloro, Biz Kid$ cast member Austin Siedentopf, and several New York young entrepreneurs featured in the series will preside over the closing bell on behalf of Biz Kid$ in honor of Financial Literacy Month.

 “Biz Kid$ teaches kids the basics of saving, budgeting, investing and giving back to the community -- lessons we can all certainly learn from," said Silverstein. "I am honored to participate in the NASDAQ closing ceremony to celebrate Financial Literacy Month and public broadcasting's roll in inspiring our next generation of business leaders."

Biz Kid$ is a fun, fast-paced program that shows kids how to use credit wisely and illustrates how to build a business and better manage their money. Whether a handbag designer, podcast host or a dog groomer, the young business owners on the series inspire viewers to turn their passions into profit. Produced by Biz Kid$ LLP in association with WXXI Public Broadcasting, the series airs on more than 320 public television stations across the country.

Biz Kid$ airs on WXXI-TV 21 (cable11) and WXXI-HD (DT21.1/cable 1011) on Fridays at 5:30 p.m. and Sundays at 10:30 a.m. Biz Kid$ launched in January 2008, and is distributed by American Public Television.
