WXXI PROMOTES IRENE FINK AND JAMES POSPULA
(Rochester, New York) July 23, 2009 – WXXI Public Broadcasting is pleased to announce the promotions of Irene Fink to TV Program Director, and James Pospula to Station Events and Volunteer Manager.
Pospula has been promoted from Auction Manager to Station Events and Volunteer Manager. In his new position, he will continue to manage the WXXI Online Auction, as well as other station events including the Speaking of Women’s Health Conference while overseeing the volunteer program. He joined the station in 2006 and has worked to make the WXXI Auction one of the biggest, and most successful fundraisers at the station. Pospula has a BA in Environmental Planning from the School of Architecture, University at Buffalo. He resides in Irondequoit.
Fink, who served as Assistant Director of TV Programming/Traffic for the past three years, has been promoted to TV Program Director. She succeeds Robert L. Owens, who served as director for 27 years before retiring in June 2009. In her new position, Fink will be responsible for programming strategy and scheduling on WXXI's television stations and on City 12, available on Time Warner Cable Channel 12 in the City of Rochester. She joined WXXI in 1998 as a Casual in the Engineering Department, and in 2002 moved into the TV Division as Traffic Coordinator. In 2006 she was promoted to to Assistant Director of TV Programming/Traffic. She has a BS in Communication from SUNY Brockport. Fink lives in Brockport with her husband Alan and daughter Kaitlyn.
