| For Immediate Release "PIPEDREAMS LIVE!" COMES TO ROCHESTER Rochester, NY (January 29, 2009) - WXXI, the Eastman School of Music (ESM), Rochester Theater Organ Society, and the local chapter of the American Guild of Organists are proud to bring Pipedreams LIVE! to Rochester. This three-day event, February 13-15, is presented by Pipedreams' host Michael Barone, and includes concerts on the Paul Fritts Opus 26 at Sacred Heart Cathedral, the Craighead-Saunders All concerts are free and open to the public. Organ faculty members David Higgs, Hans Davidsson, and William Porter from the Eastman School of Music, whose Eastman Rochester Organ Initiative is a long-range project to make Rochester a global center for organ research and performance, will perform alongside Eastman School of Music students at each concert. Mr. Barone will provide verbal program notes, converse with players, and demonstrate the mechanism and sound-palette of the featured instrument. Joining Mr. Barone for a special appearance will be WXXI's Richard Gladwell, host of With Heart & Voice, a weekly program of choral and organ music produced by WXXI and heard on Classical Pipedreams spotlights extraordinary instruments and performers playing awe-inspiring music. The eloquent and good-humored host Michael Barone hosts the weekly program. Pipedreams airs Sundays at 8 p.m. on Classical 91.5/HD91.5-1. Mr. Barone has been involved with the pipe organ for more than 40 years. He is recognized nationally for his outstanding contributions to the world of organ music.
