Interview Segments run August 26- September 4 on AM1370 and at

Rochester, New York (August 24, 2009) – Fourteen candidates are running in the Democratic primary race for five open seats on Rochester City Council. As part of WXXI's Voice of the Voter project, all the candidates agreed to be interviewed by WXXI’s Bob Smith and WDKX’s Tariq Spence, who posed citizen questions, as well as some of their own. The candidates 10-minute interview segments will begin airing Wednesday, August 26 and run through Friday September 4 at 12:45 p.m. and 1:45 p.m. on AM1370/FM-HD91.5-2. These interview segments will be followed by a special Voice of the Voter Rochester City School Board Candidate Forum, airing live on AM1370/FM-HD91.5-2 and streaming at on Wednesday, September 9 at 7 p.m. WXXI’s Bob Smith and WDKX’s Tariq Spence will moderate the discussion with candidates. An audience comprised of school district students and young voters will question the school board candidates. The forum will also air on WXXI-TV (DT21.1/cable1011/cable11) on Thursday, September 10 at 8 p.m.
