| For Immediate Release WXXI WELCOMES FIVE MEMBERS TO ITS BOARD OF TRUSTEES Rochester, New York (June 17, 2010) – WXXI is pleased to announce that five new members have been elected to its Board of Trustees. They are: Barbara Pierce, Randy Saputo, Laura Saxby Lynch, Lois Bennett Taubman, and Sherry Tshibangu. Barbara Pierce, Worldwide Public Relations Director for Kodak’s Brand Marketing & Communications, is responsible for global PR strategy for Kodak’s Consumer Digital Imaging Group and Graphic Communications Group businesses. She oversees a team of business-to-consumer and business-to-business PR experts, develops and manages PR strategy for all major campaigns, and manages crisis communications for Brand and Product Marketing. She also serves on the boards of directors of the Ad Council of Rochester, Business Marketing Association, and as board president of 360|365. Ms. Pierce received her bachelor’s degree in English from the University of Rochester, and currently resides in Pittsford, N.Y. with her four sons. Randy Saputo is Chief Financial Officer for Rochester-based North Laura Saxby Lynch is Director of Corporate Communications for Paychex, Inc. and is responsible for external communications, focusing on increasing Paychex's recognition as an industry leader and expert through targeted media and public relations programs. Additionally, she leads a team of four PR professionals responsible for public relations initiatives enhancing the company's national reputation and supporting the company's 100+ offices nationwide. Ms. Saxby Lynch also serves on the Advertising Council of Rochester Board of Directors, Bishop's Stewardship Council for the Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester, and Strong National Museum of Play Board of Trustees. She graduated with honors from St. Bonaventure University and holds a bachelor's degree in Mass Communication. She resides in Fairport, N.Y. with her husband, John R. Lynch, and their son. Lois Bennett Taubman has a master’s degree in Counselor Education and a juris doctorate. Her counseling and teaching background includes working for the New York City Board of Education. She also practiced agency, criminal and personal injury law in New York State and in Massachusetts. In addition, Ms. Taubman is the author of an online textbook for patients, has edited a multi-authored non-fiction book about an international agency, and published a short story in a literary journal. She is currently on the boards of the National Council of Jewish Women and Mercury Opera Rochester. She resides in Brighton, N.Y. with her husband Mark B. Taubman, M.D. Sherry Tshibangu is professor of the Business Administration and Economics Department at Monroe Community College (MCC), where she is tenured. At MCC she was instrumental in helping the college establish and successfully launch the Emerging Entrepreneurs Scholarship Program. Ms. Tshibangu is one of the founders of the Pathways to Entrepreneurial Success Forum that attracted 400 aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners to MCC last November. She is a long-time supporter of WXXI, serving on the Trustee Council for several years and the WXXI Board of Trustees in 2000. She earned a bachelor's degree from the University of Rochester and her MBA from Atlanta University. She and her husband, Raphael Tshibangu, M.D., reside in Pittsford, N.Y. ### |
