| For Immediate Release PHILIP SEYMOUR HOFFMAN TO NARRATE WXXI’S (Rochester, New York) March 30, 2010 – WXXI is pleased to announce Academy Award-winner Philip Seymour Hoffman as narrator of its latest documentary, Restoring a Masterpiece: The Renovation of the Eastman Theatre. A Rochester native and graduate of Fairport High School, Hoffman is a film and stage actor, and theater director. Nominated for two Tony awards and three Academy Awards, he won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his portrayal of Truman Capote in Capote. Recent filmsinclude Charlie Wilson’s War, Doubt and Pirate Radio. Restoring a Masterpiece: The Renovation of the Eastman Theatre is aone-hour documentary that captures the fascinating story of the Eastman Theatre and documents its recent restoration. Historic photographs, film, and video – including live performances from the Eastman School and the RPO among others – are featured. The film premieres on WXXI-TV in June 2010.
