WXXI’S INNOVATION TRAIL ASKS “WHAT DO YOU MAKE” AT BARCAMP ROCHESTER
Rochester, New York (October 27, 2011) – WXXI’s Innovation Trail, a news team dedicated to reporting on the innovation economy across upstate New York, will be recording stories from participants at BarCamp Rochester this Saturday, October 29 at the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT).
BarCamp Rochester is an ad-hoc gathering that gives attendees a chance to present on, discuss about, and interact with the issues and ideas they’re most passionate about. The Innovation Trail will unveil its new “listening booth” at the event, where Editor Rachel Ward, and reporters Zack Seward and Daniel Robison will invite attendees to share stories about their innovative work and what they make.
The listening booth will be open throughout the morning, with 10-minute listening sessions available on a first-come-first-serve basis; during the afternoon, slots will be raffled off, and available as announced on Twitter, with the hashtag #rocmake. Clips from selected stories will be posted at InnovationTrail.org, and will be shared in an upcoming radio series to air on WXXI-AM 1370. Innovation Trail will also play back some of the stories collected at the final session of BarCamp.
BarCamp Rochester will be held in the B. Thomas Golisano College of Computing and Information Sciences building (Building 70, GOL), on RIT’s campus. Check in begins at 8 a.m. Presentations begin at 9 a.m. To learn more, visit: http://barcamproc.org/.
