Rochester, New York (November 8, 2011) – WXXI is proud to announce Mona Seghatoleslami as its new afternoon host and producer on Classical 91.5, Rochester’s only all-Classical music station.  She will take to the airwaves on Monday, November 14 from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m.

Seghatoleslami comes to WXXI from West Virginia Public Radio in Charleston, where she was a Classical Music announcer, produced radio features, and wrote the "Classically Speaking" blog.
“I'm excited about getting involved in the community in Rochester and sharing music through WXXI,” said Seghatoleslami.  “I'm looking forward to meeting people and hearing lots of great music, and to exploring and learning about the city.”

Originally from New Jersey, Seghatoleslami studied musicology and library science at Indiana University in Bloomington and Viola Performance at Illinois State University in Normal, Ill. While at school in Indiana, she was first introduced to radio work at WFIU Bloomington.

In her free time, Seghatoleslami likes to play music – including viola, electric bass, and ukulele, attend concerts, and reads science fiction. She has also recently completed two triathlons.

Seghatoleslami can be heard on Classical 91.5/90.3/HD91.5-1 weekdays from 2 p.m. to 7 p.m., beginning November 14.
