(Rochester, New York) May 2, 2011 – WXXI and the New York Museum of Transportation (NYMT) are proud to present Dinosaur Train Day at the NYMT grounds (6393 East River Road, West Henrietta, NY) on Sunday, May 15, 2011 between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. The event will highlight the historical transportation resources of the museum while featuring activities based on the PBS Kids series Dinosaur Train. Enjoy all these Dinosaur Train activities with your museum admission, including the trolley rides that are sold at the museum gift shop. Admission for the museum's opening day (May 15) is $8 for adults, $7 for seniors, and $5 for students ages 3 through 15, and are available at the door the day of the event.

Throughout the day kids will enjoy taking a trolley ride, viewing model train displays, exploring and climbing on historic trains and train cars, participating in Dinosaur Train activities, having their picture taken in a 6-foot tall free-standing cut out of the Dinosaur Train, and watching an all-NEW episode of Dinosaur Train.

This day of fun embraces and celebrates the fascination that kids have with both dinosaurs and trains, while encouraging educational aspects of both dinosaurs and historical transportation equipment. Dinosaur Train encourages thinking skills about life science, natural history and paleontology with stories about the lovable characters Buddy (a Tyrannosaurus Rex) and his adoptive family, the Pteranodons. Dinosaur Train airs weekdays at 9:30 a.m., and 2 p.m. on WXXI-TV/HD (DT21.1/cable 1011 and 11).

May 15, 2011 is the opening day for outdoor train rides at NYMT for the summer season. To learn more about the Dinosaur Train Day event, visit: or call Cara Rager at (585) 258-0356. To learn more about NYMT visit:
