MORE THAN 900 WOMEN TO ATTEND WXXI'S SPEAKING OF WOMEN'S HEALTH CONFERENCE FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 16

(Rochester, NY) September 15, 2011 –

WXXI's Speaking of Women's Health Conference will bring together more than 900 women for a one-day health event on Friday, September 16 from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center. Now in its ninth year, the conference features 18 breakout sessions on a variety of health topics and women's issues – presented by physicians from the University of Rochester Medical Center and other local experts. There are also two keynote speaker presentations, free health screenings and flu shots, complimentary beauty treatments, and more than 40 vendors present.

13WHAM's Norma Holland emcees the morning program and introduces keynote speaker Jan McInnis, an author and entertainer – she proves that laughter is the best medicine with her presentation – "Finding Your Funny". 13WHAM's Ginny Ryan hosts the lunch program, where the Pinny Cooke Community Service Award and the Pat Andrus Community Investment will be presented. Classical 91.5's Julia Figueras emcees the afternoon program and introduces keynote speaker Linda Henley-Smith, who uses humor to present a unique look into the power of positivity and humor in all aspects of life and growth.
