WXXI BRINGS BUDDY THE T-REX FROM PBS KIDS’ DINOSAUR TRAIN TO ROCHESTER FOR DISCOVERY DAY AT THE ROCHESTER MUSEUM & SCIENCE CENTER

(Rochester, NY) October 25, 2012 – WXXI brings Buddy the T-Rex from the PBS KIDS series  Dinosaur Train to the Rochester Museum & Science Center (RMSC)  in celebration of the museum’s traveling exhibit of the largest real T-Rex ever unearthed. On Sunday, November 11, 2012 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. kids will have the chance to meet Buddy, explore the Dinosaur Train’s newestinteractive project – the Discovery Tour, and learn about Dinosaur Train’s Nature Trackers Club. Families can also explore everything RMSC has to offer, including permanent exhibits and the new T-Rex exhibit. The Dinosaur Train activities are free with regular museum admission ($13 adults, $12 seniors and college students with ID, $11 ages 3 to 18, free for RMSC members and children under 3). RMSC is located at 657 East Avenue in Rochester.

Dinosaur Train, seen weekdays at 9:30 a.m. on WXXI-TV/HD, embraces and celebrates the fascination that preschoolers have with both dinosaurs and trains, while encouraging basic scientific thinking skills as the audience learns about life science, natural history and paleontology.  Each of the episodes features Buddy, an adorable preschool age Tyrannosaurus Rex, and includes two 11-minute animated stories along with brief live action segments hosted by renowned paleontologist Dr. Scott Sampson.
