(Rochester, NY) May 23, 2012 – WXXI brings Mr. Steve and Super Why of PBS KIDS to Frontier Field for a day of fun on Sunday, June 10, 2012. Kids and their families will meet Super Why and then take in an hour-long musical concert performed by Mr. Steve. After the show, Mr. Steve will sign autographs and families can stay for the baseball game between the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Yankees and the Louisville Bats. Doors open at 11 a.m., the concert begins at 11:15 a.m. followed by the meet and greet. Game starts at 1:05 p.m.

WXXI Kids Club members receive four free tickets, and can be secured by calling WXXI’s membership department at 258-0200. Individual tickets are $12 for adults and kids 13 years or older, $10 for kids under 13, and free for 18 months or younger, and may be purchased at Frontier Field’s box office, 423-WING (9464). The prices include the concert and the game.

Steve Roslonek, also known as “SteveSongs,” is Mr. Steve, cohost of the PBS KIDS pre-school destination. With his catchy melodies and educational lyrics, it is no surprise as to why he is a family favorite. Steve observes, “I believe it’s very difficult, if not impossible, to educate without entertaining. If they’re not engaged, they’re not going to learn it.” He delights preschoolers every day during WXXI’s kids line-up, Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Super Why, from the hit PBS Kids series of the same name, invites young viewers into a pop-up story to experience a brightly-illustrated children’s tale brought to magical life. “Super Why” airs weekdays at 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. on WXXI-TV/HD and 6:30 p.m. on WXXI-Create.
