(Rochester, NY) – WXXI presents a 26-week series that features live performances from the leading music festival in North America – including the Seattle Chamber Music Society, Music at Menlo, Colorado Music Festival and Festival del Sole. America’s Music Festivals airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m on Classical 91.5/FM-HD 91.5-1 beginning April 20. Hosted by American conductor Marin Alsop, the series captures the natural beauty, excitement, and fun of summer festivals with lots of music and little talk.
Listeners will travel to Seattle to hear the Seattle Chamber Music Society and the love story between pianists Anna Polonsky and Orion Weiss; Silicon Valley, home of the first Apple Computer and the world-class artists and emerging musicians Music@Menlo; The Land of Enchantment for chile-powered festivals in Angel Fire, Taos, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque; and many more destinations around the West. Listeners will also enjoy audience favorites by Barber, Mozart and Brahms, as well as acclaimed new works such as Chris Brubeck’s triple concerto composed for Time for Three.
