Thursday, April 5 at 1 p.m. – The Witches of Lublin
(Rochester, NY) – A drama by Ellen Kushner, Elizabeth Schwartz and Yale Strom, this new one-hour radio show offers a glimpse into the lives of lost Eastern European Jewish women. Set in the Passover season, The Witches of Lublin, airing Thursday, April 5 at 1 p.m. on Classical 91.5/HD-FM91.5-1, it is a story as ancient as myth, and as modern as every family that struggles to hold its center in a world of strife and conflicting loyalties.
The Witches of Lublin stars the extraordinary Tovah Feldshuh (Yentl, Golda's Balcony) as Rivke, and features Simon Jones (Brideshead Revisited, Hitchiker's Guide to the Galaxy) Neil Gaiman (Coraline, The Graveyard Book) and Barbara Rosenblat (Anne Frank Remembered, The Secret Garden) along with a cast of New York's finest audio actors and music by today's leading klezmer musicians.
Directed by internationally acclaimed and award-winning Sue Zizza, the drama features haunting vocals and an original high energy klezmer score by Yale Strom.
