Tuesday, August 9 at 1 p.m. – Backstage Pass featuring the Gateway Music Festival
(Rochester, NY) – Backstage Pass host Julia Figueras welcomes Terrence Wilson and Kelly Hall-Tompkins from the Gateways Music Festival on Tuesday, August 9 at 1 p.m. on Classical 91.5/FM-HD 91.5-1. The festival features African-American classical musicians from throughout the United States and takes place August 10-14 in Rochester. Wilson and Hall-Tompkins will perform portions of a Debussy sonata and other selected works and talk about the importance of the festival and heightening public awareness of the contributions of African-American classical musicians.
Backstage Pass is a live, hour-long radio series that is committed to highlighting performing artists – giving Classical 91.5/90.3/FM-HD 91.5-1 listeners the opportunity to hear local and visiting musicians performing live. The series is made possible in part by a grant from the Gouvernet Arts Fund at Rochester Area Community Foundation.
The Gateway Music Fest program will repeat Sunday, August 14 at 2 p.m.on Classical 91.5.
