Friday, December 31 at 12 p.m. – A Season's Griot 2010
(Rochester, NY) – WXXI brings public radio's only nationally syndicated Kwanzaa program to Rochester. A Season’s Griot airs Friday, December 31 at 12 p.m., and again Sunday, January 2 at 10 p.m. on AM1370/FM-HD91.5-2. Acclaimed storyteller Madafo Lloyd Wilson hosts this annual one-hour special that captures the tales and traditions of African-American and African peoples.
This year’s program features a retrospective of the wonderful stories and music from 17 years of A Season’s Griot. The very best stories will be told by distinguished storytellers, while plenty of music and an original composition by the show's laureate, Beverly Fields Burnette will be presented.
