Wednesday, December 22 at 9 p.m. – National Christmas Tree Lighting
(Rochester, NY) – Celebrating its 88th year, the National Christmas Tree Lighting signals the start of the holiday season across the country. Tune in to WXXI-TV/HD (DT21.1/cable 1011 and 11) on Wednesday, December 22 at 9 p.m. to witness the tradition captured on film for all to enjoy. Blues legend B.B. King, Grammy®-nominated singer-songwriter/pianist Sara Bareilles ("Love Song"), and Grammy®-award winning band Maroon 5 help the First Family usher in the holiday season in Washington, D.C. The program reairs on Saturday, December 25 at 11 a.m.
The evening's festivities will be capped off with the ceremonial lighting of the National Christmas Tree, which is traditionally handled by the President and First Family.
