Tuesday, February 16 at 10 p.m. – Independent Lens "Mine/Home"
(Rochester, NY) – Producer Geralyn Pezanoski tells the poignant and powerful story of animals left behind during Katrina and of the struggles of hurricane victims to reunite with their beloved pets. A meditation on the essential bond between humans and animals, Mine is an equally compelling story of race and class — and the power of compassion — in contemporary America.
During the broadcast Independent Lens also presents, Home. This documentary short mixes imagery from Pezanoski's childhood home before and after Katrina.
Independent Lens: “Mine/Home” airs Tuesday February 16 at 10 p.m. on WXXI-TV (DT21.1/cable 1011 and 11).
