(Rochester, NY) – In memory of Max Farash, who passed away on February 28, 2010 at the age of 95, WXXI will air an archived episode of its The Rochester I Know series featuring Mr. Farash. The Rochester I Know: Max Farash airs on the anniversary of his passing, Monday, February 28 at 10:30 p.m. on WXXI-TV (DT21.1/cable1011 and 11).
In the half-hour episode, taped in 1995 , Mr. Farash, Founder and CEO of Farash Corporation, reminisces about growing up the youngest of seven children on Kelly Street in Rochester, graduating from Ben Franklin High, and starting his first business, Genesee Sales and Service, with his partner Al Amico. He also shares how he got into the business of real estate development, and how he acquired Gateway Center, Corporate Place, and the Time Square Building.
The Rochester I Know, produced by WXXI, was a weekly series recorded in the 1980s and 1990s that featured Rochester citizens recounting fascinating stories about Rochester.
