Monday, January 3 at 8 p.m. Antiques Roadshow

(Rochester, NY) WXXI presents the premiere of 15th season of PBS’ top-rate series Antiques Roadshow on Monday, January 3 at 8 p.m. on WXXI-TV/HD (DT 21.1/cable 1011 and 11). There’s no buying and selling, no picking or pawning. Antiques Roadshow is back with the real deal—a give and take of questions and answers that can enlighten, entertain—and sometimes—transform lives. With 20 brand new episodes in 2011, it celebrates its Crystal Anniversary—a fifteen-year romance with America’s eclectic treasures and the history that surrounds them. .

Antiques Roadshow's first stop, on January 3, is Miami Beach where host Mark L. Walberg and appraiser Karen Keane scout for mid-century modern bargains at some of Miami’s antiques and thrift shops. Highlights include a rare 1960 re-release movie poster for the iconic biker film The Wild One, starring Marlon Brando; a George Ohr vase with a surprising secret; and a 1940s mobile by Alexander Calder — grabbing the number two spot in the list of all-time highest value Roadshow appraisals at $400,000 to $1,000,000.

From Miami Beach, Antiques Roadshow heads to San Diego, California; Des Moines, Iowa; Billings, Montana; Biloxi, Mississippi; and Washington, DC.
