Sunday, January 30 at 7 p.m. Legends & Lyrics

(Rochester, NY) Legends & Lyrics, airing Sunday, January 30 at 7 p.m. on WXXI-TV/HD (DT 21.1/cable 1011 and 11), features Ed Bruce, Gordon Kennedy, and Angela Kaset, and focuses on the blended genres of country and pop. Ed Bruce performs “The Last Cowboy Song,” “Jesus Loved the Hell Out of Me,” and “Mamas Don’t Let Your Babies Grow Up to Be Cowboys.” Gordon Kennedy performs “I Can’t Help You Now,” “Change the World” and “You Move Me.” Angela Kaset performs “I Didn’t Know I Was Saying Goodbye,” “Peace in This House,” and “Something in Red.”

Legends & Lyrics honors the true creators of the most popular genres of commercial music — the songwriters. Over the course of their storied careers, these gifted composers, representing alternative, blues, country, pop, Americana, folk, rock, and blended musical genres, quietly created the great songs that drove the music industry worldwide.

Live performances from intimate performance halls blend with personal interviews, all filmed in stunning high definition. Also woven through each episode are revealing one-on-one conversations with musical legends and a “Did You Know?” segment retelling the ancient origins and interesting facts about today’s commercial music. Each episode concludes with the “Tips of the Week” segment designed to pass along professional advice to aspiring artists.
