Thursday, March 11 at 8 p.m. – Minor League, Preview Show
(Rochester, NY) – On Thursday, March 11 at 8 p.m., WXXI-TV (DT21.1/cable1011 and 11) presents a sneak peek at Minor League, a CAMPBELL MEDIA production in association with WXXI. The reality based 13-episode series features the Rochester Red Wings and the little-known world of minor league baseball in America. The Rochester Red Wings are the Triple-A affiliate of the Minnesota Twins.
The Minor League preview show will give viewers a taste of what the series will be like. The series Producer, John Campbell, will be in WXXI's studio to discuss the project, as well as members of the Red Wings Front Office staff. Joining Campbell will be Red Wings President/CEO/COO, Naomi Silver; General Manager, Dan Mason; and Chuck Hinkel, the teams Director of Media Relations. Minor League, the 13-part series, will premiere in June 2010.
CAMPBELL MEDIA GROUP followed the Red Wings through the entire 2009 season, starting with Spring Training in Ft. Myers, Florida. They captured the Team on the road, throughout 13 International League cities. The crew also followed members of the Team to Portland, Oregon for the 2009 Triple-A All Star Game. At home, viewers will see how the players live, outside of the ballpark, during their rare time off.
CBS News and 48 Hours Correspondent Erin Moriarty narrates the series. Multi-platinum recording artist, Eddie Money, contributed the theme song for Minor League. Campbell is also including a significant amount of music from Rochester-area bands.
Support for Minor League, on a national level, comes from Intercontinental Hotels Group, and locally, by: ESL Federal Credit Union; the County of Monroe (COMIDA), Michael S. Mayer, DMD, Diamonds Limousine Service, and UROLOGY ASSOCIATES OF ROCHESTER.
