Sunday, November 8 at 4:30 p.m. – Katie Brown Workshop
(Rochester, NY) – From her all-new studio located in the scenic Berkshire Mountains of western Massachusetts, art-of-living expert Katie Brown demonstrates more fun and inexpensive craft and decorating projects designed to turn any house into a home. Katie Brown Workshop airs Sundays at 4:30 p.m., beginning November 8 on WXXI-TV (DT21.1/cable1011/cable11).
Katie’s down-to-earth Midwestern sensibility and infectious personality shine through in season four of Katie Brown Workshop, whether she’s planning a child’s birthday party, finding creative ways to “go green” or creating glamorous decorations on a budget. Her time-saving and imaginative projects are a breath of fresh air for a new generation of homemakers.
Each single-themed episode of Katie Brown Workshop is divided into segments devoted to cooking, gardening and decorating. During the “Cook” segment, Katie prepares a variety of simple but enjoyable meals, including a fun menu for Big Game day, kid-friendly party snacks and a hearty Thanksgiving dinner. In the “Grow” segment, Katie transforms the bounty of Mother Nature into artful centerpieces, demonstrates unusual ways to display and arrange flowers and offers a fragrant potpourri recipe. In the “Nest” segments, Katie makes fun gourd-based Halloween decorations, beautiful feather tabletop pieces and unusual seashell art. She also shares her secrets for making home-made gifts, a low-cost alternative to impersonal store-bought presents.
This season includes four “best-of” episodes, a collection of holiday specials and episodes devoted to books, veggies, wine and cheese, recycling and circus-, garden- and polka-dot-themed parties.
Always with an eye towards family, Katie also suggests imaginative ways to entertain and engage children. In a “Best of Kids” episode, Katie provides great recipes to encourage kids to eat their vegetables and lend a helping hand in the kitchen.
