Sunday, September 12 at 2:30 p.m. – Straight No Chaser – Live in New York
(Rochester, NY) – WXXI presents a special performance by the acclaimed a capella group Straight No Chaser in Straight No Chaser – Live in New York, airing Sunday, September 12 at 2:30 p.m. on WXXI-TV (DT 21.1/cable 1011 and 11). Featuring material from their EP “Six Pack” and new material from their newest album With a Twist, the performance includes a mix of classic hits from the 1950s and 1960s, the Motown era, as well as contemporary pop hits with the classic Straight No Chaser twist. During the broadcast viewers will learn about Staight No Chasers' November 19th performance at the Rochester Auditorium Theatre, and how to get tickets.
The perfect mix of 10 incredible vocalists in harmony mixed with the perfect amount of humor provides for both a captivating and entertaining evening for all. The group’s trademark sound is captured in a show-stopping concert of songs performed from their With a Twist album.
The amazing story of Straight No Chaser is one of talent, drive and some very good luck. Randy Stine thought he was just posting a clip for the other alumni of his college a cappella group to enjoy — a quirky version of “The 12 Days of Christmas.” But eight million YouTube views later, Straight No Chaser has become an undeniable sensation.
