Wednesday, April 29 at 9 p.m. – Cry For Help
(Rochester, NY)– This primetime special features first-person stories from adolescents who are confronting depression, anxiety, and mental illness. From depressed, suicidal teens to parents unaware of what may be troubling their own children to those on the front lines of prevention and care, Cry For Help, airing Wednesday, April 29 at 9 p.m. on WXXI-TV 21 (cable 11) and WXXI-HD (cable 1011 and DT 21.1), provides a rare and important look at mental illness among young adults.
Through their own words, the program documents their stories, their emotional struggles, their lives in crisis. Cry For Help affords a new understanding of the teens’ world. In doing so, it explores treatments, mental health testing, and community healing programs to give parents and educators a basis for recognizing the warning signs of teens in trouble.
