Thursday, July 30 at 8 p.m. Antiques Roadshow: Fame and Fortune

(Rochester, NY) This Antiques Roadshow special edition, Fame and Fortune, premieres Thursday, July 30 at 9 p.m. on WXXI-TV (DT21.1/ cable 1011/ cable 11). It spotlights celebrities, big shots, and headliners through objects connected to their lives. Highlights include: a collection of photos and memorabilia documenting Marilyn Monroe’s rise to screen siren; a collection of memorabilia from The Ramones punk band, preserved by a friend of DeeDee Ramone; James Dean’s 1948 high school junior yearbook, signed with his name and nickname, “Rack;” and one of the first masks ever worn by Clayton Moore in 1951, as television’s The Lone Ranger, valued at $25,000.

Each week specialists from the country's leading auction houses and independent dealers from across the nation travel throughout the United States offering free appraisals of antiques and collectibles. Antiques Roadshow cameras watch as owners recount tales of family heirlooms, yard sale bargains and long-neglected items salvaged from attics and basements, while experts reveal the fascinating truths about these finds. The series is hosted by Mark L. Walberg.
