Wednesday, March 4 at 8 p.m. Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles

(Rochester, NY) There are not many bands that can fully capture what a true live Beatles concert was like, however the band Rain, comes very close. Rain covers the Fab Four from the earliest beginnings through the psychedelic late 60s and their long-haired hippie, hard-rocking rooftop days. Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles, airing Wednesday, March 4 at 8 p.m. on WXXI-TV 21 (cable 11) and WXXI-HD (cable 1011 and DT 21.1), is a multi-media, multi-dimensional experience – a fusion of historical footage and hilarious television commercials from the 1960s light up video screens, and live cameras zoom in for close-ups.

Rain: A Tribute to the Beatles is coming to Rochester! During the television special, you’ll be able to call into WXXI at (585) 454-6300 or 1-800-295-WXXI, make a donation, and as a thank you gift – receive tickets to this concert at the Auditorium Theatre on June 6, 2009. You may also pledge online at WXXI.org/support/membership.

Sing along with your family and friends to such Beatlemaniac favorites as Let It Be, Hey Jude, My Guitar Gently Weeps, Come Together and Can’t Buy Me Love.

The Beatles tribute band Rain was formed in 1975 and is comprised of Joey Curatolo on vocals, bass, piano and guitar, who plays Paul McCartney; Steve Landes on vocals, rhythm guitar, piano and harmonica, who plays John Lennon, Joe Bithorn on vocals and lead guitar, who plays George Harrison; and Ralph Castelli on drums, percussion and vocals, playing Ringo Starr.
