Wednesday, September 23 at 8 p.m. – Retirement Revolution "The New Reality"

(Rochester, NY) As a significant number of Americans approach an age when they would normally retire, they increasingly have less confidence in the economy and new fears about whether they can afford the high cost of growing older. Retirement Revolution "The New Reality," airing Wednesday, September 23 at 8 p.m. on WXXI-TV (DT21.1/cable1011/cable11), examines some dramatic changes people are making to ensure that they can afford to retire. Hosted by Paula Zahn, she shares the personal stories of several families and their active steps to achieve richer, healthier retirement years.

“For millions of Americans, the recession has effectively eliminated their plans to retire,” says Zahn. “They’re up against lost jobs, diminished retirement plan investments and rising health care costs."The New Reality" will help them navigate these troubling waters by offering solid advice, opinions and insight about money, health and Medicare from a host of economists and financial planning experts.”

Retirement Revolution "The New Reality"and host Zahn highlight new ways to help viewers manage their financial challenges. From lighthearted stories on self defense and second careers to solid advice about money, health and Medicare, "The New Reality"offers perspectives from experts who analyze real stories from real people. The program hopes to empower viewers with new confidence throughout their golden years.

Financial and planning experts, representing a variety of viewpoints and fields of expertise, join Zahn in Retirement Revolution "The New Reality." They include, among others, Alicia Munnell, Center for Retirement Research; Philippe Marambaud, Feinstein Institute; Alan Channing, president and CEO, The Sinai Health System of Chicago; Sir Michael Rawlins, chairman, National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence; and syndicated financial columnist Terry Savage.
