Candidate Free Air Time

For the past decade, WXXI has been giving political candidates in selected local races free air time to talk directly to their constituents.

Each candidate is allowed two minutes to deliver his or her unedited message, which is then aired on WXXI-TV, WXXI-AM and WRUR-FM beginning in late October.   The messages are also available as podcasts. This provides an opportunity for local voters to hear from all candidates, regardless of the candidates’ ability to pay for air time.
