I agree that my assignment to and acceptance of a position as a WXXI Reachout Radio volunteer in no way indicates an opportunity for future employment with WXXI. I further agree to honor my commitment to volunteering as my time allows, in a faithful manner, in a spirit of service, and with a commitment to quality. I will be honest enough to tell you when I can’t come, and in the event that I can no longer serve at WXXI Reachout Radio, I will give as much advance notice as possible.

Job Descriptions: Thank you for your interest in becoming a volunteer at WXXI Reachout Radio. This volunteer application enables us to match your interests with our needs. Below is a brief description of each of the various volunteer opportunities and the approximate time commitments for each. Please note that the jobs labeled with a (*) require an audition. Return to Application Form.

READER:*
A variety of programs are available for readers, ranging from newspapers to periodicals and books. Readers prepare their own material for broadcast from publications available at Reachout Radio. Readers are expected to arrive at the studios approximately 15 minutes prior to scheduled reading. (One half hour, bi-weekly, to one hour weekly)

RESEARCH/RECORD SPECIAL PROGRAMS:*
This is similar to a reader, but may not be a regular commitment. (Time varies with assignment.)

FLOATER:*
These readers may be assigned to a specific program, but also act as substitutes, reading a variety of programs. (1-2 hours weekly)

OFFICE ASSISTANTS:
These volunteers provide back-up support for mailings, program guide preparation, special projects and telephone contacts. (Time varies)

RECEIVER PICK-UP/DELIVERY:
Since Reachout Radio listeners must have specially-tuned receivers to access the service, and many listeners have limited access to transportation, there is an occasional need to deliver and/or pick up receivers from listeners. Please be sure to indicate on the front of the application the area which would be most convenient for you. (As needed)

SPECIAL EVENTS:
This may include, but is not limited to, any number of responsibilities from setting up and hosting remote displays, assisting in the coordination of promotional or remote events, to hosting station functions. (Time varies)

Should you have any questions about any of these volunteer opportunities, please feel free to contact WXXI Reachout Radio at (585) 258-0333.

WXXI Volunteer Opportunities: There are many other opportunities to volunteer for WXXI, such as membership drives, auction and special events. If you'd like information about other volunteer opportunities, see WXXI Volunteer web page
