The good news about heart attacks is that they can be prevented. and they are no longer necessarily fatal. Better understanding of the causes, signs and symptoms of heart disease plus new treatment methods mean that the majority of people who have a heart attack now survive.
New studies on heart disease are also highlighting the issue of patient choice in treatment. Options like surgery, angioplasty and lifestyle changes are all explored in this 60-minute special that tries to clear up the confusion about heart disease and heart attack.
