A High-Tech Peep Hole
With help from a local optics company, conservators looked
inside the copper container using a tiny fiber-optic camera
called a boroscope. Carefully inserted in a small hole made
when the box was extracted, the boroscope gave the first glimpses
of the contents in vivid detail. And good news: everthing
inside looked to be perfectly preserved 126 years later.
