Our current services include:
WXXI-TV (DTV 21.1/Cable 1221/Cable 11, Live Stream & PBS App), a PBS member High Definition station, features award-winning children’s shows, public affairs, science and nature as well as being one of the most active local program producers in New York State.
WXXI World (DTV 21.2/Cable 1275), features documentary, public affairs and news programming from public television’s award-winning signature series and acclaimed independent filmmakers.
WXXI Create (DTV 21.3/Cable 1276), a digital channel that showcases the best cooking, travel, fine living and how-to programming public television has to offer.
WXXI KIDS 24/7 (DTV 21.4/Cable 1277, Live Stream & PBS KIDS Video App) is dedicated to expanding our offerings of PBS KIDS programming. The service builds on WXXI’s commitment to providing educational children’s programming that sparks kids’ imaginations and fosters a life-long love of learning. Designed to meet the needs of today’s kids, WXXI Kids 24/7 service provides learning opportunities for every child, especially those at risk, whenever and wherever they access media. The live stream experience will expand to offer an integrated games feature, enabling children to toggle between a PBS KIDS show to an activity that extends learning – all in one seamless digital experience.
City 12 ( Available exclusively in the City of Rochester on Cable 1303)– WXXI-TV and the City of Rochester provide city residents with 14 hours a day of targeted, informative and entertaining programming.
WXXI News (WXXI-FM 105.9/AM 1370/WXXINews.org), an NPR member station, specializes in news and public affairs programming, including community-based talk shows. (Also available as a live stream and at WXXINews.org)
WXXI Classical (WXXO-FM 91.5/WXXIClassical.org) broadcasts classical music all day, every day, plus specialty programs such as “Live from Hochstein,” and “RPO Concerts” (Also available as a live stream.)
WXXY-FM 90.3, broadcasts classical music and NPR programming, every day in Houghton, NY.
THE ROUTE (WRUR-FM 88.5 & Live Stream) – WXXI and the University of Rochester to provide NPR news and eclectic music programming. (Also available as a live stream.)
THE ROUTE (WITH-FM 90.1 & Live Stream) In Ithaca, NY, WXXI has partnered with Hobart & William Smith Colleges to broadcast a music and news station that will further strengthen public radio in the Finger Lakes region. (Also available as a live stream.)
WEOS-FM 89.5 (and Live Stream) A broadcast partnership between Hobart & William Smith Colleges and WXXI, providing NPR news and eclectic music programming in Geneva, NY.
The Little Theatre is the premier cultural center for the presentation of American independent and foreign films — as well as music and visual arts — for the Greater Rochester community. In 2012, The Little took an innovative step toward sustainability by entering into a parent-subsidiary relationship with WXXI.
CITY Magazine is a monthly magazine dedicated to providing in-depth coverage of the arts and culture in the Greater Rochester and Finger Lakes area. In 2019 WXXI officially acquired CITY under RAMP, a for-profit subsidiary of WXXI.
WXXI-HD Radio includes
FM HD 91.5-1, broadcasts classical music programming heard on FM Classical 91.5 with the highest definition of sound.
FM HD 91.5-2, broadcasts news and information programming heard on AM 1370. Digital radio offers a dramatically higher quality audio and is not subject to seasonal pattern changes like AM radio, so the reception is greater.

Community & Member Engagement
WXXI News. Fair. Trusted. Balanced. WXXI News brings you in-depth reporting that opens the dialogue on local ideas and promotes understanding of our diverse city, state and world.
WXXI Education delivers educational services to the community through educational programming, Ready To Learn, pubic media resources to preK-12, and out of school learning organizations, schools of education and higher education, on-demand educational video, online resources, social media offerings for parents and educators, informal family learning events, youth media film festival, in-person outreach initiatives and local educational productions for PBS LearningMedia and WXXI.org/education. Professional development offerings include live and virtual training workshops and self-paced modules for educators, caregivers and parents offered by WXXI education staff. WXXI Education engages tens of thousands of educators, educational organizations, families/caregivers, students and youth with created content, curated topic collections using their website, social media for families and education and monthly e-newsletters.
PBS LearningMedia New York is a free media-on-demand service available to educators and learners through a partnership of the New York State public stations and PBS. It brings together the best of public media and delivers research-based, classroom-ready rich media experiences that engage students in exploring concepts across the curriculum. Drawing from critically acclaimed PBS programs such as NOVA, FRONTLINE, AMERICAN EXPERIENCE, and PBS KIDS, as well as quality partner content from groups such as The National Archives Smithsonian, NPR and NASA, the free service offers teachers, students and families access to over tens of thousands of videos, images, lessons, and interactives to enrich classroom instruction and promote curiosity and lifelong learning. WXXI and other New York public media stations produce content and add it to PBS LearningMedia to engage New York State learners at all levels with quality content. WXXI provides resource updates to schools, educators and parents in the use of this engaging learning service.
Events WXXI provides a wide range of outreach and community lifelong learning events from: educational training and informal fun family learning events, to the Indie Pop-up series, to special previews and member events.
WXXI Online is our award-winning web site, featuring WXXI’s broadcast schedules, streaming media and resource areas for education, arts, news and events.
WXXI Program Listings is our monthly program listings in CITY Magazine, featuring WXXI’s broadcast schedules, which is mailed or emailed to WXXI members at their request. Program listings are always available online.
WXXI Video On-Demand Services provides full episodes and of many local and national programs for free for a period of time after they air on the WXXI/PBS Player available via the WXXI.org website or the PBS Video App. For extended on-demand access to a rich library of public television programming, WXXI offers PBS Passport as a member benefit.
