Albert Paley, one of the world’s best-known metal sculptors, joins WXXI President Norm Silverstein for an episode of Norm & Company.
Paley has been described as a boundary-pusher – not just because of the size of his sculptures, but because of his architectural sensibilities and his unique designs. In 2013 WXXI had the honor of chronicling his Park Avenue Project, where he created 13 sculptures for an outdoor exhibit on one of Manhattan’s best known streets. You can watch the six-part web series and the full-length documentary online at WXXI.org/paleynyc.
Paley talks with Silverstein about his work and upcoming projects, why he has made his home and his studio in Rochester, and what he thinks is Rochester’s best-kept secret.
Norm & Company is hosted by WXXI President Norm Silverstein, who speaks with long-time Rochesterians as they recount fascinating stories about their lives in the community.
