Dr. Elizabeth McAnarney, Professor and Chair Emerita at the University of Rochester Medical Center School of Medicine, joins WXXI President Norm Silverstein for an episode of Norm & Company. Dr. McAnarney shares stories of growing up in post World War II, her work as a pioneering pediatrician in the Rochester community, her vision for the care of children in the future, and her mentors, role models, and lessons for the future.

Dr. McAnarney was the first woman to chair the Department of Pediatrics at URMC. She earned the Albert Kaiser Medal from the Rochester Academy of Medicine (2003), the 18th annual Athena Award from the Women’s Council of the Rochester Business Alliance, Inc., and the Crystal Heart Award from the Ronald McDonald House. She also serves as a member of the board of directors at Nazareth College and EquiCenter.

Norm & Company is hosted by WXXI President Norm Silverstein, who speaks with long-time Rochesterians as they recount fascinating stories about their lives in the community.
