In this episode, Silver talks about her family, the history of the Rochester Red Wings, business requirements for running a professional sports organization, how much baseball means to her, and the future for her franchise.
Silver is one of few women who own a professional sports team. She has been a board member of the International League of Professional Baseball Clubs since 1993 and has significantly impacted the tradition of baseball in Rochester. She has always emphasized that the community comes first. Her professional and volunteer accomplishments have been recognized throughout Greater Rochester.
In 2016, Silver was honored with the Woerner Kollmorgen Award for Community Service. In 2008 she was awarded Minor Executive of the Year by Baseball America, being the first woman to ever receive this award. In 2007 she was inducted into the Red Wings Hall of Fame.
