WXXI remembers the Glazers in this special tribute.
WXXI presents a special tribute broadcast in memory of Jane and Larry Glazer, who died in the crash of their small plane in September. Last March the Glazers sat down with WXXI President Norm Silverstein for an episode of Norm & Company, and a specially edited version of that program.
In the tribute, Silverstein introduces the archived episode and shares how important the Glazers were to the Rochester community. Then we join a conversation recorded in March 2013, where the Glazers recounted how they met, why they chose to make Rochester their home, and why they devoted their lives to making this community a better place to live. Larry Glazer, CEO and Managing Partner of Buckingham Properties, told how he got his start and how he became one of Rochester’s biggest developers. He was the man behind Alexander Place (the old Genesee Hospital site) and the development of the new Midtown tower. Jane Glazer owned QCI Direct, a mail order company that last year saw $50 million in sales.
Norm & Company is a half-hour series hosted by Silverstein. In each episode, he speaks with a long-time Rochesterian as he/she recounts fascinating stories about Western New York.
